about

Bag of Hammers reunited in 1997 upon Flyheads discharge from the Air Force. Davey was in the middle of recording "Lost Sun Disciple" as a solo artist. Davey and Flyhead decided to re-form Bag of Hammers. The agreement was that they would finish "LSD" while recording a 4-track debut as Bag of Hammers which became "The Sample Rock."
The plan was that they would then record the songs from "The Titti Demo" and then begin work on a massive double album.

Davey rented the same 4-track that he recorded the previous Home-Les EPs on.

During that time (1997 - 1999) several things changed. Due to a obsene amount of money spent recording "Back up, Junkie", Davey decided to buy studio equipment and build a studio, so as to save money in the long run.

Bag of Hammers planned on "Return of the Crack Whores" being a larger than life project. Several songs were recorded, and re-recorded. The song "Thors Woosey Groove" was recorded 5 different times before the album finally was released.

Davey also recorded a grunge project during the down time from Bag of Hammers. Davey played Drums, Guitar and Bass as well as sang. The project was to be called "The Inhumane Society"...which later became the I.H.S. Record company where Bag of Hammers released their music.

As well as building a studio, Bag of Hammers also went through a line up change. Davey and Flyhead fired their DJ and some songs were re-written entirely without him. DJ Postal only appeared a handful of times on the actual ROTCW album and those songs were written and recorded within the first few weeks of making the album.
